Welcome to istartedthefire records we are home to a family of the strongest new folk artists in the UK. Operating out of the beautiful town of Cheltenham we just simply love music and releasing records by bands that we adore. We believe that there are still people out there who, like us, love real music and making it the old fashioned way.

Our roster currently includes soul-folk duo Midnight Mile, Folk-punk quartet Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun, Nuneaton based folk collective Boat to Row and singer-songwriters Joe Summers and Ruth Bewsey. Since establishing the label in 2009 our artists have enjoyed national Radio play though BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music, alongside critical acclaim from independent music magazines and online blogs and have shared stages with upcoming and 'famous' bands across the UK and independent festivals.
